Hi all
Sorry for the lack of updates this week, it's been hair-raising to say the least and I don't seem to have all that much time to myself, yet I don't seem to be getting anything done either! My friend Alyssa and I did some conformation evaluation photos on Wednesday, so below is one side photo of each puppy.
Tonight they experienced their first major thunderstorm. When I knew it was coming I moved them down to the big dog kennel and put Nina in with them, as she's not bothered. At its worst the storm was right over our property and as I was moving from the greenhouse to the garage, I looked over and there were four puppies laying on one of the pallets in the kennel run, completely unconcerned by the thunder overhead. Gotta love that! They are also spending their first night at the kennel, they've been spending days there when I've been at work.

Visitors
My friend Pete Cockreill owns Nina's brother, Juno. Today Pete brought his family and Juno to visit the puppies.....truth be told Juno only played fetch! Below are some pics.
Almost to the Countdown
Sorry for not putting any photos up for so long, you guys.....it's been really busy here, so, here's a bunch taken on Saturday to keep you up to date.

Loooonnnnnnggggg weekend
Well, not the 'official' long weekend, but it sure felt long to me. The puppies had a very busy weekend. Yesterday morning some Prince George friends came down for a visit. We took the puppies to the little forested area at the front of the property and the puppies played in the bush, jumping over logs, falling down hills, climbing over stuff, it's a great place for puppies. They've been getting very good at following me and coming when they're called, thanks to the little bits of deer meat I've been giving them. It's a lot easier to get around the yard with them all and to get them into their pens when they need a nap. This afternoon I put their potty pan on the patio with about an inch of water in it, and they got to paddle around. They've learned to do the 15' foot tunnel, it's really fun to listen to the thunder of little paws in the middle of the tunnel and to see the yee-haw faces as they come out. They can really run now! Here are some pics I took today.

Just a bunch of things
I've introduced duck and goose wings to the crew and there's some good interest and a couple that really want to keep their prizes. A couple of pics below. A couple of days ago I brought in a big sheet of bubble wrap and we had some fun with that, puppies scooting around on it while I popped some. They've spent the first three days of this week down at the big dog kennel. I'm going in to work an hour later at 9:30 so I can get it all done in the mornings, and they've done really well down there, playing outside and napping inside. Lots of ramps and stuff to play on.

When they're good.....
...they're very, very good! Round Two of photos from Cassie and Sheldon.....the crew started falling asleep and Sheldon kept on shooting.
This morning I started working on having the crew come to me, which will hopefully turn into following me, as it's a painful exercise getting all 10 to go anywhere as a group. I cooked up some pieces of white-tail deer (thanks! Doug and Wendy!) and introduced them to taking treats from my hand, which they caught onto quickly. The hard part is remembering which got a piece! I moved from one side of the puppy pen to another multiple times and rewarded those that came to me quickly.
So, here are the photos:
